Yay! An update! No, not the big one yet. :)

I heard a nice song yesterday. Bubbly by Colbie Caillat. Its a cute, saccharine song that's so sweet. Almost like a female version of I'm Yours, almost being the keyword.

AH!!! I'm super duper excited my fingers are shaking and typing so many typos that I have to press the backspace so many times! :) I'm such a happy girl today! I'm REALLY REALLY VERY HAPPY!

WHY?

I got the best friends on earth EVER. Period.

I seriously wasn't expecting much for my birthday, cos of the prelims and A's and all! But my dearest JARLZ pulled it off! I would LOVE to show you all the wonderful video they did just for me, of the favourite part of my favourite movie with my favourite people acting in it! It made me laugh so loud in IceCube that the other table was making noise. But I don't care. You would react the same way too if you watched it. Yes I'm rambling now, but I'm so excited! I'm so happy. I'm high! :))))))))))))))))))) I LOVE MY JARLZ SO SO SO SO MUCH!!

You know what, I'm gonna take this moment and savour it, run the whole scene in my head again and again, and then I'm gonna write a super nice post on my marvellous birthday date in advance with JARLZ. So, wait and see okay!

I just realised how unsuitable I am for the business world where it is dog-eat-dog. I am a very agreeable person, always willing to do and contribute whatever I can, wherever I can. But my recent stint as an emcee made me think a fair bit. My 'okays' kept me there on site till 9 pm. And I brought home my script to type (though I prefer typing my own script, it should never have been my responsibility). I bore those 'ew-what-english-is-that!' glances when the script contained no traces of my contributions at all. Zilch. I got the 'no-no, do this instead' from various staff, when really, the problem lies with the company itself. Communication problems. But gracefully (as always) I did not delve any further into the obvious (it wasn't really necessary anyway) and just kept my manners in check.

I find it really hard saying 'no' to people. And I really should learn to curb this. Cos it will sooner than later get me in trouble. Sure, the DR 'saying Yes and go the extra mile' attitude is splendid and should (I stress) be applied in certain environments. But for the working world, uh-uh, not a good idea. Right?

Perhaps what the Uncle, one of the staff of Surbana, said is true. "If you don't know, they cannot ask you to do. But if you say you know, then that is yours already! 一定是你的了！" He was sharing with us that he used to be in charge of the cleaning department of all their branches. But after the boss knew that this uncle had green fingers, they got him to oversee the maintenance of the plants and all the environmentally aspects of all the branches. Although, I don't agree with this mentality at all, it does sound logical. Especially when there is no credit added when another load is put on. Perhaps for the older generation this is acceptable?

Anyway, I've got my peek into the working world. How there really are people holding rather major (considering the size of the organisation) roles, yet their capability and way of working is really not up to par. At all. Pleasantries when it comes to the more senior personnel. Not keeping track of the time and the staff on hand. It is quite sad.

EQ (read: emotional quotient, not EQ-EQ lol) is also important. Very important. It is obvious la. Watching a group of people work together, discussing about what goes first, which way, which side of the rostrum. How one person goes:

"er cccan we run through it once more. oh no no, not this. i think say this instead"

and another goes

"Good morning! (big smile) Are you well rested? Got a nice voice for today? Ah, amendments I see, well, can't avoid them! Minister's old already! Can't stand for too long ah!"

I knew the latter was being nice so I would do a better job and stuff, but even though I knew so, it won a smile from me.

Okay back to my first point, saying no, stop thinking for others cos they will never appreciate it; you are but an employee to them! Is it the right mentality to have? I mean, personally I've always felt that no matter how the situation is or how the people one has to deal with is, we should stick to our own principles and values. Perhaps there is a thin line in which we can stand and not compromise our values, yet not be trod on or taken advantage of. What is it then.

But still, thank God for this opportunity to earn a fair bit for an easy-to-do event. There was a minister (Dr Ng Eng Hen - one of the few names I'll always remember from reading over and over again) present. Channel News Asia reporters and camera person, some radio people. But Janine zai. :) God's grace!

And thank God for such a good boss. Driving me around, picking me up early in the morning to the site. He was impressed! Yay! Future events can bag already.

One last thing! For those who haven't already done so, please scroll down to the last post before it disappears from the page okay. AND AND AND! Teach me how to say no. Tactfully yet with authority. Janine is too nice a person. Really, its like my Achilles' heel. I always feel used.

Okay maybe another last thing. I've found love! Nathaniel Hawthorne writes like a lover. His craft is delectable. I'm in love. I've always thought classics like Hawthorne were boring. So wrong! He can beautify a flower so descriptively that you see the flower in your head unconsciously, and within a few seconds turn you against the flower, and see evil in its beauty.

Oh my goodness!

I just googled my name and found my blog. THIS BLOG. Which means its not private! Not really private anyway. What if someone googles my name? Then they'll read my blog and then I won't know who's reading my blog.

Should I be an irritating person and limit my readers (read: you guys will have to get an account to read)? :x

I think I can become a private investigator. Okay maybe not. But still! The wonders of blog-hopping and googling. I just found out Hanbin has a girlfriend called Grace. And I found her blog. Surprisingly her command of English is quite good. And Hanbin looks happy. lol

I'm the KPO-est person ever. And I also read from someone else's blog that Hanbin's Grace reminds them of Carol, similar mannerisms and all. Haha. Boy, I'm glad this blog is private.

You can see how no-life I have become. Waking up at 11+ 12 everyday, bringing Cookie down and washing the toilet. Watching TV, photoshoping, reading. Sigh. I feel like a blob of jello that just sits on a plate and collects dust and is starting to mould. But this jello doesn't feel like moving at all. :x

My GPA went up up up. Not the best, but I'm just glad I pulled my socks up and got no ugly Cs. And I finally got a distinction! :) YAY! 3.3 now, 3.6 next semester okay!

Janine's a happy girl. She just met up with the loveliest group of friends yesterday, she made her best friend very very happy, she had fun suaning Zoe cos dear Zoe was slowwwwww. Her loveliest group of friends decided that they're going to meet up once every fortnight for dinner. She got her GPA and no disappointments. WL, Ronald, Mingfan and Clement did the MEME for her. Andddd, well everything seeems so much brighter and the stars are smiling.

I was about to say even the MOCCA advertisement seemed less like sticking my fingers at the back of my throat, but no. I still cannot stand that guy. Puke.

WL! You're not sexy cos you've no Tay or Ping or Hui in your name. :) I still love you the same, friend! Just not sexy. Haha.

Sixth birthdays we've celebrated with you. Each year these birthdays become more meaningful than the last. From Giftland to Gift-a-name to custom-made, choosing something cute yet affordable has turned to wrecking our brains to come up with a game plan for the big surprise. My dear, we've matured haven't we.

My one friend that has been with me since the beginning of my entire Secondary life AND still is sticking with me. Remember, remember? How you thought I was fierce at first and had to get Hui Tong to ask Quee Huang to ask me to move my head so you could see the front. How our 'clique' metamorphisized I-know-at-the-back-of-my-head-but-am-too-lazy-to-count-now times but we're still stuck with each other and will be till the end. :) It's amazing isn't it. Yes, I am glad that God has allowed our lives to cross and gave us the chance to be the best of friends.

Though we're different characters, you the ever-friendly lady who can make friends super quickly, me, all courteous and proper around new people, deep down we're probably very similar, just in a different way. That would explain our telepathic moments. :)

You're a special lady my dearest monkey. The tomboy then who always sported the super short mushroom-y hairdo has demure-d! Still, you're a toughie who's really a softie deep down inside. Filled with sweet-gooey-love and cheer that keeps everyone happy and coming back for more.

And Joel Chia is a lucky fella to have you as his girlfriend. :) But my love, don't shy la! He's so eager to shower you with LOVE. Haha. He put down his pride to make you happy and show your friends what a nice capable boyfriend he is, and how we can 放心地把你交给他. WOAH Chinese. HAHA! I would say more, but you'll start scolding me for being on his side. So I'll say, still, if he's a good guy, he'd be understanding and stick by you despite your allergy to mushiness. :P

The best part of us is, we get each other. We're on the same wavelength. We get high on swimming pool water. We walk pass that stretch in town and think of 2 things immediately: Gareth Gates' showcase at the Rouge Club and Joel and the tissue paper auntie. We understand that weekends are precious. We read good books. We always have something to talk about. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I'm so proud to have you as my best friend! Miss Larissa Ho, who can beat guys at the pull-up bars and leave girls staring daggers at you because you are the coolest. Oh yes, I love telling people my best friend can probably beat you at pull-ups! Never mind if I'm not the fittest girl (though I AM FIT. just for the record), never mind if I don't have a super sweet boyfriend, never mind if I'm not having the time of my life in CJC, I have a best friend who is fit, has a boyfriend who serenades her while throwing her sweet glances, and has climbed 14797519023648176325 mountains in less than 2 years in JC! That's better than nothing. :)

Although this post is everywhere, my brain is just not functioning for me properly today, and although someone got a more detailed card than you, you know it is filled with more love, sincerity, sugar, spice, everything nice. Because I'm your best friend and your best friend is the nicest best friend in the world. You'll love this post because its so sweet and its the deep thoughts that counts.
