The new year is almost here. And it is kind of scary, the speed at which time is flying past us and how age is catching up on us. Pretty soon, ah nevermind. Let's take it slowly.

Thank God the day was saved.
Thank God even though it rained.
Thank God we did it despite the rough start. (will someone please explain to me how to use 'albeit' in a sentence? i tried but failed in this sentence, hence 'despite')
Lastly, thank God I had jamming today. at the expense of missing time with my sweet ones. still, i wouldn't have went.

You know what, I think everyone's a tad bit too negative. We should learn to be more positive and supportive. You realise that people are throwing invisible daggers here and there, shooting down one another indirectly and we might not notice but it really does not encourage growth and improvement. It certainly does not edify. So whyyyyyyyyyy. Why do we still do it. :(

Lol. Anyway that's one of my new year's resolutions for next year. But, I'm going to pray about it and blog my resolutions another day. You should too. :)

As a young boy I knew a girl who was born with a unique skin discoloration around her eyelids . It made her embarrassed and she never wanted to draw attention to her eyes . But little did she know that it honestly made her eyes look beautiful, in a way that only she would ever possess .

I regret that in my younger days, I hadn't yet learned how to show a girl ways to appreciate herself .
I hope that at some point, a boy came along who was man enough to say it .

These two are bundles of joy. Little bird is like a little kid sometimes, she just bursts into something random and unexpected that gets you smiling. And then sometimes she becomes a nurse and gets all assuring and takes care of others. Even though she's so teh-y, and screams at every single thing, she's so lovable. Venus too! Laughing machine. :)

While waiting for the guys to clean up.

Started preparing for this night at 2 p.m. with the girls over at my place doing their hair and makeup. Venus, Eli and Jelene were bold enough to wear their dresses while making their way to my place, it was quite funny, seeing 3 girls dressed in black dresses walking with huge paper bags. :)

Eventually we headed over to church and were blown away by the decor. And since we were so early, I just had to re-walk the entrance when registration officially opens. My date was Christine. Haha. Hilarious.

Numerous photos taken, mocktails and chips, more photo-taking and eventually entering the dining area. Games, good food, crapping over the meal, shooting Pastor with questions so we might win.

Awards time! Yours truly won the Miss Congeniality award! :) Haha. I was super thick-skinned but well, everyone loves that right?

Mr Charming went to EQ! Most Humorous - Rammy. Most Blur - Rae (So expected. :D ) Miss Bubbly was Sandy! (though really KATHERINE aka Kenneth should have won; not saying Sandy is not bubbly.. haha) Most Talented - Jerome. Most look-alike went to Rae and Shen. Best dressed were Valerie and Shen. The cup we got was impressively done and so were the slides!

The night did not end there! Headed over to Jerome's place - we sat through the countdown of Christmas in Ben's car. And then went over to Uncle George's place. Mummy won $225 in the Deal Or No Deal. :)

Roomies! (This was the only picture I could upload without having to rotate the picture so here!) Sandy was fun to room with, Belle was a nuisance! (she never turned off the lights and TV before sleeping. HAHA maybe she's scared of the boogie man) and my sister.. well she was hardcore TNA watching throughout.



Some historical site we had to visit before we were allowed to go shopping. In the end the youths stayed longer than the adults did, taking pictures and more pictures. (With PETER around, you wouldn't wonder why)

The services were great. Pastor Joe was funny and really a blessing. Really a servant of God. It was really evident that God touched him and used him to speak to us. Thank you LORD.

Shopping sucked. :(



Wanted to get these done in Malaysia, but no time! We only found the little manicure booths on the second last day and unfortunately they had only 2 manicurists and 2 customers already. :( I was not happy.

I've been thinking about my new year's resolution. That's for the next post! :) Thanks everybody for the presents. I loved Auntie Jessica's present. So 'girlish indulgence'.

4hum outing was rather disappointing. I would have died of boredom if not for grace with me. (But then, if she didn't go I wouldn't have anyway.) The guys are still as immature (haha) so couldn't really catch up with ChengEn like he said. Was looking forward to knowing more about what he did on his missions trip. OH WELL

We started talking about marriages.

It's quite sad that people speak so harshly about their other half. Relationships are not supposed to be a burden.

ANYWAY! Leaving for church camp tomorrow! I'm looking forward to it! Shopping!! I wanna get shoes. Flats, heels, more heels. And hopefully a pedicure.

I'll miss you grace. It's good that we're meeting up again and catching up. :)

Oh well.

Finally met Grace again! And seeing her tomorrow too! Chatted quite a bit, caught up on her life and the happenings. Aiyah everybody got boyfriend except me. Lucky Grace got boyfriend still will go out with me. The rest all, their boyfriends are like martians! I think they went to outer space. Okay lame.

BUT. I still conclude that being single is the best. :) I have nothing of that matter to fret over.

We certainly should look further.

It shocked me today when Andrew told me about his mission trip. And really, the kids in Ban Meata are so fortunate compared to others out there. Can you guys imagine taking care and playing with blind and deaf kids? Or seeing child prostitutes along the streets? I know I can't.

Its just so humbling, to know. And yet it kills me inside. There are so many out there who needs help. And look around us. It would help if everyone see the need everywhere and contributed a little. Splurging on things that don't matter when a child somewhere is suffering to get money to survive the day.


Yet on a better note, its nice to know that there are people around me going forth to reach out.

If only we could spread this around.

Oh yay! Jerome loves Taylor Swift too! It was an interesting scene; the three of us gushing - and I mean GUSHING - on and on about how she is SO pretty and how her songs rock. :) It is rare that I excitedly exclaim that a girl is pretty. Goes to show how pretty she is.

Anyway, Golden Compass was good. It got my heart racing and my hand was over my mouth half the time, while Christine nudged me for looking so ridiculous. I love the idea of having a little animal by your side all the time, like a pet that is allowed to go everywhere with you. And I almost cried when Lyra and Pan were almost separated. I was enjoying the movie whilst trying to spot and sort the "atheist" scenes or messages, and they were very subtle. But I guess the author achieved his short term goal - get more people reading His Dark Materials the trilogy. But then reading is just reading. Make sure you can tell right from wrong ah EQ and romey. Haha.

Jelene joined us today. :)))) So fun. But as usual, got suaned like mad. Don't know why I love them.

Friday is almost here! Intensive studying tomorrow. Weeeeeeeeeeee.

This is why I can't study at home. Shuriken school is on the telly and I'm facebooking, blog-surfing and blogging all at once.

I'm no longer poor. Kudos to my parents for saving up for me. I will do the same for my kids in future. This doesn't mean Janine's gonna go spend like crazy though. I won't do sprees or go brand crazy or eat a lot. This just means my debts are settled. :)

I'm looooking very much forward to the end of friday. I get to see Grace again! Finally. And Ronald too. Just that I see him until sick already. (haha just kidding. you know i love you roland)

OKAY! Now that I've blogged, hopefully it will get me off the Internet and I can start studying so that I can go watch The Golden Compass with my lovelies tomorrow. (Since lalaho pangsehed me for her Joel :( boo )

Proud of my cousin (even though everyone thinks he's weird)

I feel so ashamed of myself sometimes. I'm such a softie. I couldn't stop the tears welling when I heard my cousin act and sing; not because of the fact that I'm proud of him but because of the things he said. They had a musical at the Esplanade - 5 days of intensive training for noobs and then a 45 minutes performance at the end of it all. Wasn't the best musical, but it's amazing how they are all so confident even though they're new at this. Very new. HI musical. tsk. Why didn't they have such fancy shmancy events when we were there?

Oh BTW, Pauline Wong left the school.

Anyway, the musical was about teens in Singapore; the gangs, the gamers - very "I not stupid" ish. But it was cool. HI idol was in it too and she, along with some guy and a cute little primary school kid, won some outstanding achievement award and scholarship with the musical school thingy - I can't remember what it's called.

I look at these pictures and I'm missing the place, the people, the simplicity of everything there, so much. You know, sometimes I wish church activities dominate my life instead of school. I want to do so many things and have not had the time to.

If only school was 2 days a week.
